Suitland resident Nicholas Norris is facing charges following a weeklong probe into a reported shooting in Camp Springs on July 5, authorities announced.

Officers were called to a business shortly before 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the shooting in the 5100 block of Auth Road, where a man advised investigators that a man shot at him while attempting to steal an item.

Norris was identified as a suspect, police say, and he was taken into custody on Friday, July 12, and during a search of his home, officers recovered several firearms, firearms parts and equipment for manufacturing firearms.

No injuries were reported.

Norris was taken into custody over the weekend and charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, as well as other related offenses.
